I was discussing my handover with my colleague last Friday when suddenly my laptop blacked out after a small spark at the power extension. We tried to switch it back on, with and without the battery but it just didn't work.
Called up the IT support and no thanks to the long holidays for the state - the sultan's birthday on monday, the deepavali on wednesday, it wasn't until thursday that the IT guy came to check and took it away for "resuscitation"!
yesterday, ie. friday morning, at 0914 hours, 7 days after the incident, i received the WORST news one can ever imagine...i lost the hard disk. All, and i do mean ALLLLL my files are gone.
And this happens 3 days before my full hand over...i feel like screamiinngggggggg.....
did a small back up in June but only for certain files...
the rest of the stuff is GONE...family photos, 4 months of work, and my 90% complete handover notes.....
do i have the will to re-do the notes & the data...??
do i have to ask people to re-send me things?
God help me..
apa laa dosaku iniiii...
banyak sangat meng-gossip kut...huhuhu
so, moral of the story : Back-up, back-up, and always back-up your work...
and kurangkan buat dosa kering kat pejabat...

Masya'allah...that would be one of my worse nitemares too!! I always tel the IT guys, if I lose any of my files...I would resign!! Hhahaha..overacting much? But still, 11 years of work accumulated...hmmm, maybe I should request for an external hard disk from the office.
BTW, hope you find the will to redo all the work.

been there! tapi during my final year buat thesis lah... since then, skit2 back up, skit2 back up sampai pening byk sgt files. tp it does help if anything goes wrong. hope all turns out well K.Ieja!!! Gambatte-ne! :)
