I am not sure whether it's the new kitchen arrangement or the hormones. suddenly i got that extra motivation to cook for the past two days. it started with the nasi goreng i prepared before i left for mentakab early friday morning... i thot that the 'kerajinan' was just one-off.
we had a few invitations on saturday - 2 open houses and 1 wedding plus a short visit to my 51- day old cousin baby Anesa at galing camp. would have been tired after 4 visits but somehow, for dinner, i actually made sambal udang...! for someone like me, it's an achievement...
the motivation continues today, with nasi goreng using that sambal udang leftovers. on a normal sunday, we just buy roti canai or nasi minyak. Before we went off to another friend's open house for lunch, i made choc cream pudding!... "Umi ada hobi baru," abi commented.
The pudding turned out to be too sweet. next time i'll remember to reduce the sugar to 2/3 cup.
Later in the afternoon, Yas called. He and Aina and their 2 daughters planned to drop by at our place, on their way to kerteh from kl. first thought, we just bawak our guests dinner luar aje as there's nothing much in the kitchen..tak de sehelai daun / sayur pun!...but we remember our previous guests who didn't want to eat outside as their baby was already sleepy. so we couldn't take that chance again. so i called up my mom and asked for her simple yet special ayam goreng recipe! abi went out to buy tomyam & kailan ikan masin from the nearby zuzana restaurant to top-up the ayam goreng. (ok-lah 1/3 dinner homemade, 2/3 beli).
after dinner, we chat. over kopi o kluang and abi's limited edition of roti kaya toast. rasa mcm bukak kopitiam pulak...alhamdulillah...hope our guests are happy too.
