Khatulistiwa & Teh Ais

i want to jot down this small 'discovery' from an interesting lesson by one ustaz, who taught arabic language in uia. found out that the word *khatulistiwa* comes from 2 arabic words : "khatu" + "al-istiwa".

it means 'garis' + 'pertengahan'...
line in the middle...

aha, we owe this to the advance muslim knowledge of those era.

Also, based on arabs belief/practice, he said the arabs don't drink teh ais because they say iced tea is unhealthy for the body system.... it's not the tea per se, but the combination with ice. tea should be drank hot according to them. even tea which is left to cool for some time until become quite sejuk is not quite healthy...
