The Funeral

i received the phone call at 7 am 4th December 2008. My Tok passed away in her sleep.
i managed to catch the firefly flight to penang (my first with firefly) and touched down in penang at 10.30am. took the cab to juru auto city to be picked up by yati and her family who was also on their way to kangar.

the last time i saw Tok was 2 weeks ago before we went to langkawi. when we arrived at 1pm, i saw my Tok already covered in the white sheets except for her face. i kissed her cheek and cold forehead. Tok, you get to rest after bearing the pains and the trials. Kami redha dengan pemergian ini...

After the prayers were said, we proceeded to the tanah perkuburan.


as practiced in many places in perlis darus sunnah, no Talkin done. the imam did some tazkirah for those present. the funeral was a simple one. no air mawar nor flowers...and no kubur in the cemetery has any binaan on it. flat earth with plain batu2 nisan sebagai teman menunggu panggilan akhir...
