went to the Immigration Dept in Indera Mahkota 2 days ago, was told i needed the old passport. silly me, i did not bring it. nasib baik tak buang lepas dah expired way in '99...
frantically looking for it among the junks at home. i think a wife's usually better than her husband in looking for lost items... but this time, Abi proved me wrong. he he, thank you Abi for saving umi the trouble of going to make police reports and submitting additional forms, and cut down processing time from 1 month/2 weeks to half a day. and that old passport has this pic of a nerdy looking lass with BIG glasses way back 15 years ago. euuuu....
anyways, today went again...just to remind myself of the living breeze in Kuantan...(the immigration dept is about 2km away from our house - just need to pass ONE traffic light :) ). went there at 8.15, got the ticket no. 001. Called to pay the RM 300 for 32-page passport. All done by 8.45. They told me to come again in 2 hours. Off to office and reached office in 15 minutes. On my way to office, one of the immigration staff actually called to inform that the passport will be ready at 2pm instead...a personal call dari a govt office - certain company pun tak buat cenggitu. i don't mind the delay, but the effort of calling back the customer to infom the delay, hours before the original promised time. memang tabik lah this dept.
