Today is the 12th AGM for JIM Pahang's women's wing. K. Lina, Wanita JIM Central Committee member (a clinical psychologist; who's also my ex-hsemate, ex-naqibah, and our 'big' sister whom we always consult for free..:) came to officiate. She came all the way from Bangi, accompanied by Iman and K. Lila with their little children. They departed at 4.45am (!) to arrive by 8.30am in Kuantan. Great to see my ex-housemates of mawaddah again!
catching up with old and new stories ..from tracing people in FB to ideas of changing jobs. apparently many ppl we know have jumped the ship to work in riyadh, doha and similar places due to attractive job offers..K. Lina will be off to doha soon too to follow hubby... :) envy.
We had planned to have nasi ayam Hainan treat for lunch at sri mualaf restaurant - but was really disappointed that it was closed. since yesterday. for good. some lorry drivers who had just loaded the shop's dining tables and chairs into the lorry, told me that the shop owner 'balik kampung'. i didn't ask why - bankrupt ke (cannot be) ? relocate ke? but, sedihnya! the shop has always been full of people. other than their chicken rice, there were yummy sotong goreng tepung, tofu jepun, chocolate ice blended....why, oh why...i am not only sedih that i cld not treat my special sisters today (after i had described the detailed menu in my e-mail to them), but the fact that i will not have the chance to eat the 'authentic' hainanese chicken rice anymore...:( life in kuantan will not be the same again...
then we went to tanjung lumpur instead, the famous seafood area. Had quite a nice steamed siakap, tomyam, and of course iman's sotong goreng tepung...!
