Guess it's a lil bit too late to wish happy CNY...shame on me, i have not very many chinese friends despite living in multi racial malaysia.... way from melawati & lembah keramat days, i grew up with (other than my close buddies, arfah and zhawk) opstupe, june, vincent, vi vien, norman, chico and yen nee, who's now working hard (and play hard) in the lion city. also penny, kim hoe who are on FB, and jude chong (who scored highest for BM in one of the tests - where are you??).
the boarding school i went later didn't have any chinese. in scotland i met bubbly kim (oh kim, remember the 'club' we formed for 'exclusive' members above XX kgs??...he he). and tansp, who helped me so much in our study group back in uni. he and ai rin, we worked in this company together before they left for greener pastures....
when did i last i attend a CNY makan2...? hmm... went to opstupe's place YEARS ago...we met his parents and his cute sister. his family reassured us that all the food served was halal. they had their next door malay neighbour to cook some of the dishes. the tradition is ongoing, he invites friends over every CNY without fail...why am i writing this? may be i am jealous coz at 12pm today, the smlk gang will gather again over good food at his house and here i am, eating leftover breakfast...!
