The muslims there were friendly too. One man showed me where the ladies prayer room is just as we arrived. another guy told me to take my shoes inside after i left it on the stairs. baik, kan? after the prayers, we asked for halal food restaurants nearby. 2 brothers recommended us to go to 'Bismillah Restaurant' at chung king mansion.

on our way to chung king, there were 'restaurant promoters' who were quite aggressive, almost pestering you to go to their restaurants. you gotta be polite but firm at the same time to say no. at times, i felt like being harassed! desperate ke apa diorang ni. anyways, we had lunch at Wakas (GF of chung king as we could not find Bismillah). (later we found it - will go there next)
abi had spicy chicken masala with generous portion of briyani and i had briyani with beef. yummy! while we were eating, the owner of the opposite shop, a very friendly singaporean auntie came and chat with us and a few asian guys nearby. forgot to mention that majority of the shops in chung king's are indian/african based. heard the pakistani-looking guys talking - they could speak urdu, english AND cantonese. amazing. i guess this is normal here.after that full & hearty lunch, we were all set for nathan road, the famous shopping haven and see what it has to offer. :) i learnt my first lesson how bargaining is a must here after we bought a toy for the boys. the price was reduced from HK 280 to HK100. (tak ada real bargain pun, cuma tunjuk interested - tapi harga turun 'sedikit demi sedikit' bila nak tinggalkan kedai...:) )
after mostly window-shopping at nathan road, we went to the markets...1st, the Fa Yuen Street Market.

finally is the Ladies Market...(not just for Ladies, tho). definitely a place to sharpen your bargaining skills.
there's another market on my list, the famous Temple Street market...tak larat nak pi dah. ada masa lagi. lain kali kut...
HK ni memanglah sesaknya...kalau ada demo palestin ke,...jemput 100 orang, mungkin senang2 dapat 3, 4 ribu 'peserta tambahan'... :)
this blog entry is getting long...:) nak habis dah ni...our last, well 2nd last aim for today was to see the Symphony of Lights, a laser/light show which starts every night at 8pm - 8.18pm. we took the bus from the Ladies market to new world centre, then rushed thru the subway to the TST Promenade. the subway's so pretty, tak de grafitti langsung! cantik dan bersihnya bandar HK ni...
we just realised that tomorrow is valentine's day. padan le byk org jual bunga kat tepi2 jalan, ...org islam tak yahlah sambut kan...
back to the Symphony of Lights, it's a coordinated show participated by 23 buildings on the HK island side and 21 on the kowloon side... a must see for any visitor to HK. i love the background music. caught the show on a 3-min video but it's > 300Mb, far exceeding the 100Mb max upload size limit. sorry.
our last adventure to end the day is the Star Ferry, taking us back to wan chai. At only HK2.20, it is recommended on almost all the internet sites i visited about what to do in HK.
ok, that's all for now. time to urut my poor feet...
