serious posting ni, tapi had to let it go, as it kind of lingering in my mind since sunday. i went to this human rights seminar (u can view under my WJIM link). first of all, i believe, human, IF viewed as godless subject will see themselves as having TOTAL rights of whatever they want to do. they can have all the pleasures in the world, no obligation, no responsibilities, as they don't buy stories of hereafter. But as servant of Allah, that definition of human rights needs to be referred to none other than the human's Creator, Himself.
I had to "tolerate" so-called muslim woman speaking "on behalf" of other muslim women as if the muslim women are so uneducated, suppressed or being treated inequally. in their cause, these 'spokepersons' do not focus to 'unjust muslim men' (and there are also unjust people of other religions), but more of criticising the hukum itself. i am not sure what are their real motives. banyak lagi isu yang lebih kronik, mengapa ajaran islam ni jugak yang nak dipersoalkan. it gives misleading message to the non-muslims! banyaklah saham akhirat puak2 liberal yang menjauhkan islam dari mereka yang belum faham islam...sudahlah manusia makin tinggal agama.
anyway, back to human rights...how far do we know our rights? As in "know" to the point that we will fight it if we don't get it?
As a 'rakyat', what rights do you have?
As a woman, what rights do you think you have?
And as a muslim woman?
I've heard that for every right, there are obligations.
Let's see, some 'RIGHTS vs OBLIGATIONS' i can think of...
1. i can work if i want to and i can quit if i want to; but my obligations are to spend the money i earn wisely
2. i want peaceful and positive home & family support ; but i need to work hard making that happen
3. i have the rights to say my opinion in decision making; but, once decision has been made together, i will have to abide as long as it is not against my principles.
4. i have the rights to be told the truth, but my obligations are to be truthful myself.
...
if those in charge believe the stories of hereafter, no one needs to fight for their rights, right?
