The Residence
We booked ourselves at Singapore Recreation Club's accomodation called The Residence, after hours spent searching for affordable SIngapore hotels on the Internet. The Residence ni aje yang harga satu malam around 200 dollars but ranked quite good @ tripadvisor...We add in 1 extra bed so plus another 60 dollars. All in all, it was 284 dollars inc. taxes. Rentas!
I must say, we had a great time at the Residence.
#1 : I could never forget this kind waitress at its Poolside Cafe who attended to us during our breakfast. She was so nice helping me to senduk the nasi lemak and bawakkan fresh milk for us, seeing this poor mom + 5 kids struggling. :). I think she was one cool waitress!

| The pool. The jacuzzi is at far end. |
Plus point # 2 : Did i mention the hotel pool? It was indoor but the ceiling is cleverly made to look like the skies!
Except for 1 Indonesian family who were there for like half an hour, and a few club members who used the adult pool, we were the only family for the whole 2 hours (well, it was Monday morning...:) )...
Oh, yes, point # 3 : we had the jacuzzi all for ourselves, too.
# 4 : The Residence's location was another plus point. It's walking distance to Suntec.
# 5 : It is also near Arab Street. Great halal food!! :) We had maveles Moroccan dishes at this outlet called Deli Moroccan near the mosque. the tawkey is melayu lady with her moroccan husband who got all the authentic spices from maghribi..
And so we ordered 2 Kebabs, 1 Lamb Briyani and tasty Mablouka rice. Mahal betul but we later discovered that 1 dish boleh makan 2 orang due to its generous portions. Kenyang sungguh, and we tapau quite a lot...:)
Their drinks a bit cair, not to my likings though. So, air aje yang rasa rugi bayar...huhu

Yishun
Before we say goodbye to Kota Singa, we stopped by at Yishun to visit Abi's uncle who's been ill.
Feels good to meet familiar faces di tempat orang. we learnt that some of the family apartments there costed about 500K dollars! insaf juga with saudara/kawan2 kita yang kerja kuat di singapore, having to cari duit since semua mahal-mahal...nursery/tadika mahal, food mahal...nak beli rumah pun kena apply...
That concludes our Spore trip notes. We really look forward to our next visits to the Lion City.
"Abi, next time balik johor kita bawak ajelah passports, eh? manalah tau..." (sparkling eyes)
"Huh?"
"Orchard Road tak tengok pun lagi..."...
although i doubt i could buy anything there..ha ha...
