Day 8 & 9 : Gepps Cross & Port Adelaide

Gepps Cross

Going to Sunday Markets have been our weekly routine here mainly to find veggies, fruits, and of course pre-loved items at great bargains.  There are a few sunday markets here; the Gepps Cross (every Sunday), Brighton Sunday Market (2nd & 4th Sundays), Marion (1st & 3rd) and Christies Beach Market.  Of all these, i love Christies Beach one, because i love travelling far south and the sellers are somehow, friendlier.

Many msians aimed for a catch at Correlle or Cornings but we always got there late so, rasanya ramai lagi yg awwaluun dah sapu brand2 yang terkenal ni. To avoid disappointments, i usually search for nice house deco, paintings, vases, and anything english.  Also, quality books and toys for the kids. Sometimes i get lucky, sometimes not.

tak tau apa benda ni - looks like labu yg dah di-awet...

Hello, peeps!

habis session di Gepps Cross

with their newly acquired pre-loved toys

Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide is quite close to our suburb.
It has ferry services that could take you to see dolphins swimming around (if u r lucky).
The town also has a Railway Museum and a market called the Fishermen's Wharf Market.

Fishermen's wharf market yg mahaaal...so touristy...

Ok, dolphin first.  The chance of seeing dolphins is always in Abi's "to-do things-with-Mujahid" list.  We board the ferry at 2pm.  The ferry has two decks - the lower one has a restaurant, and it's warmer for MIL.  Abi & the kids took the upper deck - open air, hence cold winds.  :)

Hello, fellow sailors!

macam tempat turun ke kapal selam

it's so warmer here in lower deck

...compared to here, at upper deck.
nampak panas tapi angin dia sejuk...

anak sapa la ni...

We just got a brief sight of a dolphin.  Mujahid didn't like it - too cold and no dolphins. Huhu...next time, ya Abang.

Railway Museum

Meraikan Hamza yang suka sangat trains, lepas naik ferry kami pun pergilah ke museum ni.  It ranks good in tripadvisor too so, we gave it a go.  Yang best, kita boleh naik train for unlimited number of times.  Tapi kami sampai dah lewat, so ada 2 trip aje yang tinggal.

There are huge trains on display here.  Hamza macam di syurga keretapi!

vroom..vroom! motorbike used on railway lines.
Hamza's happy passengers :)

Ada macam-macam train on display - from various era.  Each train has a story.
The Museum also has this adopt-a-train plan where you can, err... adopt a train. :)
The "adopter" would (must) come here and clean his train once a month.  Cool, eh?

handsome men with a black beauty

yes, this train is a "she"

kenyang tengok banyak sgt trains

aahh, i love trains...
my dream is to travel europe & asia overland on trains. insha Allah!

tickets to malaysia, please?

model trains...its sensor makes it self-activated.
such detailed models with little cars, buildings and events like accidents and fires.
siap dengan little games "cari benda tersembunyi" lagi...

Day 9 we all tak pergi mana..so break kejap. :)
Sambung Day 10 next entry, ya?
